I specialize in grief and loss counseling, including bereavement, divorce, pregnancy, and childhood losses. Losses of any kind can leave you feeling groundless and uncertain. Unattended losses are often the seeds for depression, anxiety, and unwanted behaviors. They can leave you feeling disconnected from the people you love. I would like to guide you through the process of grieving and healing, towards a life full of joy and purpose.
Focusing on human relationships, I am comfortable working within your spiritual framework, and sometimes include relaxation training, guided imagery, meditation, and expressive arts when appropriate. I am trained in EMDR, a researched-based treatment that can greatly relieve the negative effects of traumatic experiences.
I also facilitate "Mothering Ourselves," an empowering, ongoing psychotherapy group for mothers who need mothering.
